Subject: using vga monitors with toaster

I was wondering if anyone can be of help in regards to using vga monitors
with the toaster system. My understanding of the situation is that to run
the toaster 4000 one needs a monitor which is capable of composite sync, such
as the old 1084. Newer moniors such as the 1940 which are capable of the scan
rates still won't work because they use separate syncs.
There is a device on the market called the "Sync Strainer" which I believe
will convert a composite sync back to a separate sync for use with the newer
vga monitors. The question is Has anyone used this device to make use of their
vga monitors while using the toaster. Secondly will the device interfere with
vga operation when not using the toaster (especially with high resolution modes
such as Super 72 etc).
